I haven't eaten since Thursday morning - the bad news left me feeling extremely nauseous, and it hasn't cleared yet - it's still peaking occasionally actually, rather than fading.

Anyway, I figured by now I might feel sick from not eating, instead of (or as well as) because of stress/upset, so I just tried it. My stomach said 'no'. Huey said 'hi'.

Suggestions for things I can go and buy to eat that might be a bit less challenging than pasta? I don't really have much of anything else in the house right now, so I might as well go and buy something sensible after work tomorrow. Don't think I'll bother trying again this evening.

Pasta is actually quite complex to digest. I know everybody says 'wholemeal toast (made with un-messed-with ingredients like un-bleached flour), plain with marge not butter' but that's because this is good advice. :)

Or something like cream crackers. It probably would be a really good idea to try and eat something before doing a whole day's work...

I'm more worried about my emotional state fucking up work than my physical state... I didn't get anything done on Friday at all. Coding is concentration... I'm not really up to it right now. :-\

There's been a lot of brain-dead sysadmin stuff to do at work lately, and for the first time in my life I find myself hoping for more of it.

I'd be inclined to try and do as much as work as you can - on the basis that it will take your mind off the emotional state. This is certainly my tactic for depression avoidance. It's been a very long time (6 1/2 years or so) since a similar thing happened to me, and I can't remember what I did to cope at the time - I do know that I needed as much as I could to try and take my mind off it.

Trying to get on a cycle of eating properly will also help, I suspect. Does anyone at work know about this and how much it's affected you, because it might even be worth speaking confidentially to people you trust there, on the basis that they'll be more willing to help you out and be a bit more realistic in expectations.
