Next tattoo (or is it tattoos?)

dennyFound a design I really liked today, but wasn't sure where to put it. Then I thought it might look quite good on my thigh if it had some friends underneath it. Is it one tattoo or three if they're done at the same time, in the same place, but are three separate parts? I can't quite decide.
