So, it's December, and therefore (by my own personal laws, which will be enforced by all means necessary when I'm ruler of the known universe), it is no longer illegal to mention Xmas.
This seems like a good time to mention my xmas presents-buying policy; generally speaking, I don't buy presents for my friends, or indeed even my family most years. I also don't expect and am often somewhat embarrassed by xmas presents from my friends.
If I see something that screams out to belong to a particular person, then sure, I'll get it - but I'd very probably do that if it was July too. I don't like buying people random shit that they'll grin at for a few minutes and then throw in a cupboard or on a shelf, forgotten in a day or two... if I don't see the perfect gift for someone, I'll not bother. Likewise, I'd prefer not to be bought random stuff by my friends - I'm sure you can all think of better things to do with your money :) I'd really rather you spent it on yourself rather than waste it on getting me a present, unless you find something that you really want to give to me.
This doesn't apply to my gf of course, who must get me all the swag I demand. *cough*

Don't need a fake Christian holiday to be nice to people.
